The suspense over the match between India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025 is finally over.
The Sports Ministry on Thursday released a new policy, which cleared everything.

What is the whole matter?
The Sports Ministry made it clear that the Indian cricket team will participate in the Asia Cup to be held next month, and there will be no problem in playing a match with Pakistan.
A ministry source told PTI, “We will not stop the Indian cricket team from playing in the Asia Cup as it is a multilateral tournament.”
But wait, if you are thinking that bilateral series will start again between India and Pakistan now, then it is not so.
The ministry clearly said, “As far as bilateral sporting events in each other’s country are concerned, Indian teams will not participate in competitions in Pakistan. Nor will we allow Pakistani teams to play in India.”
Meaning, there will be no home or away series between India and Pakistan. Since 2012-13, both teams clash only in ICC or ACC events like World Cup, T20 World Cup and Asia Cup.
What is special for fans?
This policy means that a high-voltage match between India and Pakistan is certain in Asia Cup 2025. Fans will get that thrill when both the teams face each other.
The ministry also said that India will follow the Olympic Charter and will continue to participate in multilateral events, whether it is abroad or in India.
That is, if Pakistani athletes come to any multilateral event to be held in India, they will be allowed to play.
Like always, this time also both the teams can clash up to three times in the tournament.
This new policy of the Sports Ministry has made it clear that bilateral cricket will remain a dream for now, but the thrill of India-Pak will remain intact in big tournaments like Asia Cup.
