    Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 8 wickets in the 27th match of IPL 2025 played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

    Punjab batted first and scored a huge score of 245/6, but Sunrisers achieved the target in 18.3 overs thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 141-run innings.

    First innings: Punjab Kings score 245/6 (20 overs)

    Punjab Kings got off to a stormy start. Priyansh Arya (36) gave a quick start by hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes in 13 balls. Prabhsimran Singh (42) and captain Shreyas Iyer (82) batted aggressively.

    Iyer hit 6 fours and 6 sixes in 36 balls. In the end, Marcus Stoinis (34*) took the score to 245 with 4 sixes in 11 balls.

    Harshal Patel (4/42) was the most successful bowler for Sunrisers, while Ishan Malinga (2/45) also took two wickets.

    • Shreyas Iyer – 82 runs (36 balls, 6 fours, 6 sixes)
    • Prabhsimran Singh – 42 runs (23 balls, 7 fours, 1 six)
    • Priyansh Arya – 36 runs (13 balls, 2 fours, 4 sixes)
    • Marcus Stoinis – 34* runs (11 balls, 1 four, 4 sixes)

    SRH best bowlers:

    • Harshal Patel – 4 overs, 42 runs, 4 wickets
    • Ishan Malinga – 4 overs, 45 runs, 2 wickets
    • Pat Cummins – 4 overs, 40 runs, 0 wickets
    • Mohammed Shami – 4 overs, 75 runs, 0 wickets
    • Zeeshan Ansari – 4 overs, 41 runs, 0 wickets

    2nd innings: Sunrisers Hyderabad achieved the target in 18.3 overs (247/2)

    Chasing a huge target of 246 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a great start. Abhishek Sharma (141) played a record-breaking innings by hitting 14 fours and 10 sixes in 55 balls.

    Travis Head (66) supported him well and shared a 171-run partnership for the first wicket. Heinrich Klaasen (21*) and Ishan Kishan (9*) remained unbeaten and ensured victory in 18.3 overs.

    For Punjab, Yuzvendra Chahal (1/56) and Arshdeep Singh (1/37) took one wicket each, but the bowlers failed to stop Abhishek’s storm.

    Defining moment of the match:

    The decisive moment of the match came in the 17th over of the first innings with a brilliant bowling by Harshal Patel when he bowled Glenn Maxwell (3) and then Shreyas Iyer on the very next ball Iyer (82) was caught by Travis Head to restrict Punjab to 206/6.

    In the second innings, Abhishek Sharma’s consecutive sixes against Shashank Singh in the 16th over put Sunrisers on the winning track. Heinrich Klaasen hit the winning runs in the 18.3rd over to ensure a comfortable 8-wicket win.
