In the 2nd match of IPL 2025, Rajasthan Royals played a thrilling match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, in which they scored a huge score of 286-6 runs.

Although they lost the match, the team’s young captain Riyan Parag said some interesting things about his batting and strategy.

In a conversation with the media, Parag said that the middle order of the team will prove to be their biggest strength this season.

He said in clear words, “We will not get 280 runs in every match. Sometimes there will be matches of 140-150 runs, and then the role of our middle order will be most important.”

In the match, Rajasthan Royals performed poorly in the beginning, when the team’s score fell to 50-3. But Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer took the team to 242-6 with their stormy batting.

Riyan Parag had already questioned Sunrisers Hyderabad’s aggressive batting last season.

He said in a podcast that scores of 250-240 will not come consistently like last year. He took a dig at the batting of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma that it will not be like last season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad scored a huge score of 286/6 in their first match, in which Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant century. Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head also gave the team a strong score. Sanju Samson scored 66 runs for Rajasthan Royals, while Dhruv Jurel played a stormy innings of 70 runs.

Although the match was lost, Riyan Parag expressed full confidence in the performance of his middle order.

He believes that the team will show its full potential in the coming matches. The next match against KKR will be an important opportunity for them.
