    In the IPL 2025 Eliminator played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 20 runs to enter Qualifier 2.

    MI batted first and scored 228/5, in response to which GT could only score 208/6 in 20 overs.

    With this win, MI will now take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 2 on June 1, 2025 in Ahmedabad, where it will be a tough fight to make it to the final.

    Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have already reached the final by winning Qualifier 1.

    Eliminator’s 1st Inning: Mumbai Indians 228/5 (20 overs)

    Mumbai got off to an explosive start, with Rohit Sharma (81 runs, 50 balls, 9 fours, 4 sixes) and Jonny Bairstow (47 runs, 22 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes) putting on 84 runs for the first wicket. Suryakumar Yadav (33 runs, 20 balls) and N.

    Tilak Verma (25 runs, 11 balls) scored quick runs in the middle overs. Captain Hardik Pandya (22* runs, 9 balls) batted aggressively in the final overs to take the score to 228.

    For Gujarat, Sai Kishore (2/42) and Prasidh Krishna (2/53) took two wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj (1/37) took one wicket.

    Eliminator’s 2nd Inning: Gujarat Titans 208/6 (20 overs)

    Chasing a target of 229 runs, Gujarat got off to a bad start when captain Shubman Gill (1 run, 2 balls) was dismissed in the first over.

    Sai Sudarshan (80 runs, 49 balls, 10 fours, 1 six) and Washington Sundar (48 runs, 24 balls, 5 fours, 3 sixes) shared an 84-run partnership for the third wicket.

    Kusal Mendis (20 runs, 10 balls) and Sherfane Rutherford (24 runs, 15 balls) also contributed, but wickets fell at regular intervals to restrict Gujarat to 208/6.

    For Mumbai, Trent Boult (2/56) took two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah (1/27), Richard Gleeson (1/39), Mitchell Santner (1/10), and Ashwani Kumar (1/28) took one wicket each.

    Decisive moment of the match

    The turning point of the match was the 16th over, when Richard Gleeson dismissed Sai Sudharsan (80) to reduce Gujarat to 170/4. Trent Boult then dismissed Sherfane Rutherford (24) in the 18th over, dashing Gujarat’s hopes of a win.

    Rahul Tewatia (16* runs, 11 balls) and Rashid Khan (0* runs, 2 balls) in the final over could not get close to the target, and MI won by 20 runs.

    Qualifier 2: Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians

    With this win for MI, they will now take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 2 on June 1, 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

    PBKS had lost against RCB in Qualifier 1 after being all out for 101 runs. The winner of this match will play the final against RCB in Ahmedabad on June 3, 2025.
