Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered a major setback ahead of the IPL 2025 Eliminator match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 30 at Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
Actually, MI’s star fast bowler Deepak Chahar and middle-order batsman Tilak Verma may not be able to play in this important match due to injury. This news is no less than a big setback for MI, as both the players are the backbone of the team.

MI had to face defeat in the last league match against Punjab Kings (PBKS). In that match, Deepak Chahar suffered a leg injury, yet he showed courage and bowled three overs. But now in a video viral on social media, Chahar is seen limping at the airport.
Fans fear that he will not be fit for this big match. On the other hand, Tilak Verma also suffered a knee injury in the same PBKS match. He also looked uncomfortable while going to Mullanpur. If both these players are unable to play, then MI’s path may become more difficult.
However, Tilak Verma’s IPL 2025 was not very special. Despite two explosive half-centuries at the start of the season, he was not consistent in the middle order. 274 runs in 11 innings, an average of 30.44 and a strike rate of 131.73 are his figures.
