    Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 3 wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) rule in the 56th match of IPL 2025 played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

    Mumbai batted first and scored 155/8 in 20 overs, in response to which Gujarat won by scoring 147/7 in 19 overs in a rain-affected match.

    Will Jacks (53) and Shubman Gill (43) made important contributions for their respective teams, while Jasprit Bumrah (2/19) bowled brilliantly.

    1st innings: Mumbai Indians 155/8 (20 overs)

    Mumbai got off to a poor start, with Ryan Rickelton (2 runs, 2 balls) and Rohit Sharma (7 runs, 8 balls) getting out early. Will Jacks (53 runs, 35 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (35 runs, 24 balls) steadied the innings with a 71-run partnership for the third wicket.

    However, Mumbai’s run rate was affected by the cheap dismissals of Hardik Pandya (1 run, 3 balls) and Tilak Verma (7 runs, 7 balls). In the end, Corbin Bosch (27 runs, 22 balls) added some useful runs.

    R Sai Kishore (2/34) and Rashid Khan (1/21) bowled economically for Gujarat.

    Chasing a target of 156 runs Gujarat got off to a good start. Sai Sudharsan (5 runs, 5 balls) was dismissed early, but Shubman Gill (43 runs, 46 balls) and Jos Buttler (30 runs, 27 balls) put on 72 runs for the second wicket.

    In the middle overs, Jasprit Bumrah (2/19) and Trent Boult (2/22) took wickets at regular intervals, including Sherfane Rutherford (28 runs, 15 balls) and Shahrukh Khan (6 runs, 6 balls). The target was reduced to 147 runs in 19 overs due to rain.

    In the final over, Rahul Tewatia (11* runs, 8 balls) and Mohammad Arshad Khan (1* runs, 1 ball) showed patience and ensured victory.

    The decisive moment of the match came in the 19th over, when Deepak Chahar took the wicket of Gerald Coetzee (12 runs, 6 balls) was dismissed to reduce Gujarat to 146/7. Rain reduced the target to 147 runs in 19 overs.

    On the last ball, Mohammad Arshad Khan took advantage of Hardik Pandya’s runout miss and took 1 run to give Gujarat a thrilling win.
