    IPL 2025: GT Won by 7 Wickets as Buttler’s Unbeaten 97 Stuns DC!

    Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 7 wickets in the 35th match of IPL 2025 played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

    Delhi batted first and scored 203/8 in 20 overs, but with the help of Jos Buttler’s brilliant innings of 97 runs and Sherfane Rutherford’s 43* runs, Gujarat won by scoring 204/3 in 19.2 overs.

    First innings: Delhi Capitals 203/8 (20 overs)

    Delhi got off to a fast start, with Abhishek Porel (18 runs, 9 balls) and KL Rahul (28 runs, 14 balls) batting aggressively. Karun Nair (31) also added runs quickly.

    Skipper Axar Patel (39) and Tristan Stubbs (31) held the innings together in the middle overs while Ashutosh Sharma (37 runs, 19 balls) batted explosively in the end. However, Delhi could not score big despite reaching 200 as wickets fell at regular intervals.

    Prasidh Krishna (4/41) was the most successful bowler for Gujarat, taking two wickets in two balls. Mohammed Siraj, Arshad Khan, and Sai Kishore took one wicket each.

    Chasing a target of 204 runs, Gujarat got off to a good start, but Shubman Gill (7) was run out early. Sai Sudarshan (36) and Jos Buttler added 60 runs for the second wicket.

    After Sudarshan was out, Buttler along with Sherfane Rutherford (43*) took charge of the innings. Buttler scored 97 runs (11 fours, 4 sixes) in 54 balls, while Rutherford added 43 runs in 34 balls. Rahul Tewatia ensured victory in 19.2 overs by hitting a six and a four in the last over.

    For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav (1/30) got the only wicket, while Mitchell Starc and Mukesh Kumar proved expensive.

    The decisive moment of the match came in the last over, when Gujarat needed 10 runs Rahul Tewatia hit a six off Mitchell Starc’s first ball and a four off the second ball to ensure victory in 19.2 overs.

    Jos Buttler’s 97* helped Gujarat chase down Delhi’s strong total with ease.
