England star cricketers Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid have recently given their opinion on their teammate Harry Brook’s decision to withdraw from IPL 2025.

Actually, England star cricketer Harry Brook gave a big blow to Delhi Capitals, this star player of England kept himself away from IPL 2025, in response to which the BCCI imposed a mandatory ban of two years on him.
In the “Bird Before Cricket” podcast, Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid supported the BCCI’s decision and said that the rules already existed.
Moeen Ali said, “It’s not harsh. I agree with this, because a lot of people do this. It has happened to many people before, and they came back and then they earned better money.”
He further said, “The team that has lost Harry Brook has suffered a loss and now they have to do something again.”
IPL rules are strict, players have to follow them!
Moeen clarified, “Forget Harry for a moment, but the rule is that if you leave, you will be banned, unless it is due to a family matter, injury or any other reason.”
The former England captain also said, “He (Harry Brook) is a top player. The team might have built a team around him and then suddenly they backed out.”
Adil Rashid also supported the BCCI’s decision, saying, “This rule was implemented earlier as well. When you p ut your name, then you know what will happen if you leave. So I don’t think it is harsh.”
He further said, “Yes, if you get injured or have any other problem, then maybe the rules can be changed.”
Why did Harry Brook leave IPL 2025?
Harry Brook was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. But he decided to pull out of this season, the main reason for which is said to be the increased pressure after the resignation of England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler.
Being the vice-captain of the team, Brook has been spoken to by England Cricket’s managing director Rob Key about white-ball captaincy. Harry Brook is the frontrunner to lead the team in the white-ball format, although an official announcement is yet to be made.
