KL Rahul’s Own Choice
Kevin Pietersen shared an interesting story after the match. The Delhi Capitals mentor revealed that Rahul was asked to open. “He wanted to bat at the top,” said Pietersen.
“KL wanted to bat at the top. Sometimes it doesn’t work, but a player of his quality, how good was that to watch? When you can see players of that quality practice and watch them bat like that, it’s a privilege,” Pietersen told official broadcasters Star Sports during the mid-innings break.
KL Rahul hit the ball all around the ground. He smacked 14 beautiful fours during his innings. The Gujarat bowlers had no answers for him.
