    Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 7 wickets in the 37th match of IPL 2025 played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh.

    Punjab batted first and scored 157/6 in 20 overs, in response to which RCB won by scoring 159/3 in 18.5 overs.

    First innings: Punjab Kings 157/6 (20 overs)

    Punjab got off to a quick start, with Prabhsimran Singh (33 runs, 17 balls) and Priyansh Arya (22 runs, 15 balls) adding 42 runs for the first wicket.

    Captain Shreyas Iyer (6) and Nahal Wadhera (5) were dismissed early. Josh Inglis (29) and Shashank Singh (31) held the innings together while Marco Jansen (25) added useful runs in the end.

    Krunal Pandya (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26) bowled brilliantly for RCB while Romario Shepherd took a wicket.

    Chasing a target of 158 runs, RCB suffered an early setback when Phil Salt (1) was dismissed in the first over.

    After this, Virat Kohli (68 * runs, 49 balls) and Devdutt Padikkal (61 runs, 35 balls) made a brilliant partnership of 103 runs for the second wicket. After Padikkal’s dismissal, captain Rajat Patidar (12 *) along with Kohli ensured victory in 18.5 overs.

    For Punjab, Arshdeep Singh (1/26) and Harpreet Brar (1/21) took one wicket each, but Yuzvendra Chahal and Marco Jansen proved expensive.

    The decisive moment of the match came in the 12th over of the second innings, When Harpreet Brar broke the partnership by dismissing Devdutt Padikkal (61), RCB were at 109/2.

    After this, Virat Kohli took the innings forward with patience and aggression. In the 18.5th over, Kohli hit a four off Yuzvendra Chahal to give RCB a 7-wicket win.
