    Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 2 runs in the 36th match of IPL 2025 played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

    Lucknow batted first and scored 180/5 in 20 overs, in response to which Rajasthan could only score 178/5 in 20 overs.

    Aiden Markram’s innings of 66 runs and Avesh Khan’s 3 wickets played an important role in Lucknow’s thrilling victory.

    1st innings: Lucknow Super Giants 180/5 (20 overs)

    Lucknow got off to a good start, but Mitchell Marsh (4) was dismissed early. Aiden Markram (66 runs, 45 balls) and Ayush Badoni (50 runs, 34 balls) batted brilliantly to handle the innings.

    Nicholas Pooran (11) and skipper Rishabh Pant (3) fell cheaply, but Abdul Samad’s quickfire 30 off 10 balls took the score to 180.

    For Rajasthan, Wanindu Hasaranga (2/31) was the most successful bowler, while Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande took a wicket each.

    181 Rajasthan had a great start chasing the target of runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal (74 runs, 52 balls) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (34 runs, 20 balls) added 85 runs for the first wicket.

    Nitish Rana (8) and Riyan Parag (39) took the innings forward, but Avesh Khan put Rajasthan under pressure by dismissing Jaiswal, Parag, and Shimron Hetmyer (12). Dhruv Jurel (6) and Shubham Dubey (3) remained unbeaten till the end, but missed 2 runs.

    Avesh Khan (3/37) and Aiden Markram (1/18) bowled brilliantly for Lucknow.

    The decisive moment of the match came in the last over, when Rajasthan needed 18 runs Avesh Khan bowled brilliantly and dismissed Shimron Hetmyer (12) in the 19.3rd over and conceded only 5 runs off the remaining balls.

    Dhruv Jurel and Shubham Dubey could not score 2 runs off the last ball, giving Lucknow a thrilling 2-run win.
