    Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 14 runs in the 48th match of IPL 2025 played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

    Kolkata batted first and scored 204/9 in 20 overs, in response to which Delhi could only score 190/9 in 20 overs.

    Sunil Narine’s 3/29 and Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 44-run innings played an important role in Kolkata’s victory.

    First innings: Kolkata Knight Riders 204/9 (20 overs)

    Kolkata got off to a quick start, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26 runs, 12 balls) and Sunil Narine (27 runs, 16 balls) adding 48 runs for the first wicket.

    Captain Ajinkya Rahane (26) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44 runs, 32 balls) took the innings forward. Rinku Singh (36) and Andre Russell (17) increased the run rate in the middle and final overs but wickets fell at regular intervals to restrict the score to 204/9.

    Mitchell Starc (3/43) and Axar Patel (2/27) bowled brilliantly for Delhi.

    Chasing a target of 205 runs, Delhi got off to a poor start, losing Abhishek Porel (4) off the first ball. Faf du Plessis (62 runs, 45 balls) and captain Axar Patel (43 runs, 23 balls) held the innings together, but Sunil Narine put pressure on Delhi by dismissing Axar, du Plessis, and Tristan Stubbs (1).

    Vipraaj Nigam (38) scored quickly in the end, but Delhi fell 14 runs short.

    The decisive moment of the match came in the 14th over, when Sunil Narine took the wickets of Axar Patel (43) and Tristan Stubbs (1) were dismissed in successive overs to reduce Delhi to 138/5.

    Then, Delhi lost Faf du Plessis (62) to end Delhi’s hopes. Delhi needed 20 runs from the final over but Andre Russell and Varun Chakravarthy bowled tight to give Kolkata a 14-run win.
