Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 10 runs in the 59th match of IPL 2025 played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Punjab Kings batted first and scored 219/5 in 20 overs, in response to which Rajasthan Royals could only score 209/7 in 20 overs.
The brilliant performances of Nehal Wadhera (70), Shashank Singh (59*), and Harpreet Brar (3/22) played an important role in Punjab’s victory.

Punjab got off to a fast start, but Priyansh Arya (9 runs, 7 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (21 runs, 10 balls) were out early. Mitchell Owen (0) also returned to the pavilion without opening the account.
Nehal Wadhera (70 runs, 37 balls) and Shashank Singh (59* runs, 30 balls) steadied the innings with a 58-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Captain Shubham Dubey (21* runs, 9 balls) scored quickly in the end to take the score to 219.
Tushar Deshpande (2/37) and Kwena Mphaka (1/32) took wickets for Rajasthan, but other bowlers proved expensive.

Harpreet Brar (3/22) dismissed Vaibhav, Yashasvi, and Riyan Parag (13) to put Rajasthan on the backfoot. Sanju Samson (20) and Shimron Hetmyer (11) also got out early. Dhruv Jurel (53 runs, 31 balls) tried to handle the innings by scoring a half-century, but Marco Jansen (2/41) and Azmatullah Omarzai (2/44) took wickets at regular intervals to restrict Rajasthan to 209.

This wicket broke the backbone of Rajasthan’s batting, and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals thereafter. Needing 20 runs from the final over, Marco Jansen dismissed Dhruv Jurel and Wanindu Hasaranga off successive balls to ensure Punjab’s 10-run win.
