    Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 8 wickets in the 40th match of IPL 2025 played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

    Lucknow batted first and scored 159/6 in 20 overs, in response to which Delhi scored 161/2 in 17.5 overs thanks to KL Rahul’s unbeaten 57 and Abhishek Porel’s 51 runs to register an easy win.

    First innings: Lucknow Super Giants 159/6 (20 overs)

    Lucknow got off to a good start, with Aiden Markram (52 ​​runs, 33 balls) and Mitchell Marsh (45 runs, 36 balls) adding 87 runs for the first wicket. Nicholas Pooran (9) and Abdul Samad (2) were dismissed early.

    Ayush Badoni (36) and David Miller (14*) held the innings together, but skipper Rishabh Pant (0) was dismissed in the final over.

    Chasing the target of 160 runs Delhi got off to a fast start in the chase. Abhishek Porel (51 runs, 36 balls) and Karun Nair (15 runs, 9 balls) added 36 runs for the first wicket.

    After Porel’s dismissal, KL Rahul (57* runs, 42 balls) and captain Axar Patel (34* runs, 20 balls) made an unbeaten partnership of 56 runs for the third wicket and ensured victory in 17.5 overs.

    Aiden Markram (2/30) took both the wickets for Lucknow, but the other bowlers were not effective.

    The decisive moment of the match came in the 12th over of the second innings, when Aiden Markram dismissed Abhishek Porel (51) to reduce Delhi to 105/2.

    After this, KL Rahul and Axar Patel took the innings forward with patience and aggression. In the 17.5th over, Axar hit a six off Prince Yadav to give Delhi a spectacular victory by 8 wickets.
