    Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 11 runs in the 42nd match of IPL 2025 played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

    RCB batted first and scored 205/5 in 20 overs, in response to which Rajasthan could only score 194/9 in 20 overs. RCB won a thrilling victory thanks to Virat Kohli’s 70 and Josh Hazlewood’s 4 wickets.

    First innings: Royal Challengers Bangalore 205/5 (20 overs)

    RCB got off to a good start, with Phil Salt (26 runs, 23 balls) and Virat Kohli (70 runs, 42 balls) adding 61 runs for the first wicket.

    Devdutt Padikkal (50 runs, 27 balls) scored quickly, while Tim David (23) and Jitesh Sharma (20*) eventually took the score to 205. Skipper Rajat Patidar (1) was dismissed cheaply.

    Sandeep Sharma (2/45) was the most successful bowler for Rajasthan, while Jofra Archer and Wanindu Hasaranga took one wicket each.

    206 runs Rajasthan got off to a stormy start chasing the target of 52, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (49 runs, 19 balls) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (16) adding 52 runs.

    Nitish Rana (28) and Riyan Parag (22) carried the innings, but Josh Hazlewood put Rajasthan under pressure by dismissing Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel (47), Shimron Hetmyer (11), and Jofra Archer (0).

    Rajasthan fell short by 11 runs after the dismissals of Shubham Dubey (12) and Wanindu Hasaranga (1).

    Josh Hazlewood (4/33) and Krunal Pandya (2/31) bowled brilliantly for RCB.

    The decisive moment of the match came in the 19th over, when Yash Dayal dismissed Shubham Dubey (12) and Wanindu Hasaranga was run out, leaving Rajasthan at 191/9.

    Rajasthan needed 15 runs from the final over but Josh Hazlewood conceded just 3 runs to give RCB an 11-run win.
