A young spinner Harsh Dubey is making big news in cricket. Two famous coaches are talking about his bowling skills a lot. They think he could become a star player for India soon.

Dubey plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad team in IPL 2025 as a replacement player. He joined the team when another player got injured. The team bought him for just 30 lakh rupees at auction.
Anil Kumble and Daniel Vettori praise Harsh Dubey for his smart bowling style. Kumble said Dubey can “rip it” and “dip it” with his spin. This means he can turn the ball sharply and fast.

Daniel Vettori coaches SRH and watches Dubey bowl every day in practice. He thinks Dubey understands cricket conditions very well for his young age. Vettori believes Dubey will get better with more match experience.
“We’re very pleased with what he has done since he has come into the team – obviously a very clever bowler. [He] understands conditions well, understands how he needs to bowl, and can mix it up”, Vettori said.
Anil Kumble likes how Dubey beats batsmen with pace and spin together. Most spinners use only one skill but Dubey uses both cleverly. This makes him very hard to hit for big scores.
“He’s giving it a tweak, that’s the start. And when you do that, you certainly get a bit of drift. And, more importantly, it goes off the surface that much quicker. And that’s something that we see in Harsh Dubey,” Anil Kumble said.
His Cricket Records and Performance
Dubey holds the record for most wickets in Ranji Trophy season. This shows he can bowl well in red ball cricket matches. His best IPL figures were 3 wickets for 34 runs against KKR.
He has taken 14 wickets in 19 T20 matches so far. His economy rate stays at 7.32 runs per over consistently. These numbers look decent for a young spinner learning the game.

Dubey dismissed Rinku Singh and Andre Russell in the same match. Russell got out so cleanly that he walked off immediately. The ball turned sharply and hit the middle stump perfectly.
Anil Kumble and Daniel Vettori praise Harsh Dubey for these match-winning performances regularly. Tom Moody also said good things about his bowling skills. All coaches see bright future ahead for this young player.
Future Plans for Harsh Dubey
India A team selected Dubey for their England tour recently. He will play first-class matches and practice with the main team. This gives him a chance to learn from senior Indian players.
Cricket experts think he could play Test matches for India. His spin bowling style suits longer format cricket matches perfectly. Anil Kumble and Daniel Vettori praise Harsh Dubey as future Test cricket prospect.

Dubey also bats well which makes him a useful all-rounder option. Teams like players who can both bowl and bat decently. This skill helps him get selected in different cricket teams.
The coaches believe steady practice will make him even better. Dubey needs to keep working hard on his bowling and batting. His domestic cricket experience will help him handle international pressure later.
