IPL 2025: Why Rishabh Pant’s ₹27Cr Price Tag Turns into a Pressure Bomb as “Disturbed & Frustrated”?

The IPL 2025 season was not very special for Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant. Fans had high expectations from Pant, who came with a record bid of 27 crores, but both his performance with the bat and captaincy were disappointing.

Why Pant Seemed Disturbed & Frustrated
IPL 2025: Why Pant’s ₹27 Crore Price Tag Turns into a Pressure Bomb as “Disturbed & Frustrated”?

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has strongly criticized Pant’s poor form and his angry attitude on the field. Let’s know what is the whole matter!

    Why is Pant’s bat silent?

Pant has scored only 128 runs in 11 matches this season. His strike rate is 99.22, which is the lowest among all the batsmen who have scored more than 100 runs. That is, Pant is neither able to score runs nor play fast. His best score in this entire season has been only 63 runs, which is a big shock for his fans.

Last season, Pant scored 446 runs in 13 matches for Delhi Capitals, that too with a great strike rate of 155. But this time he could not show the same magic for Lucknow Super Giants.

Fans and experts feel that the pressure of the huge price of 27 crores is probably dominating Pant.

Captaincy Crisis: Pant’s anger and disappointment

Aakash Chopra questioned Pant’s captaincy and said that he looked very upset and angry on the field. Especially during the 37-run defeat against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala, Pant’s attitude shocked everyone.

Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “Pant is a good player, but this year his performance did not work at all. He also looked very agitated as a captain. No one wants a captain who looks disappointed and angry on the field.”

Chopra also said that the captain’s face should never tell that he is angry. But Pant’s anger was clearly visible, which is not a good sign for the team.

He also added that perhaps something is going on “behind the scenes” that we do not know about.

What is the situation in Lucknow?

Lucknow Super Giants are still in the playoff race, but they now have only three matches left. The match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Stadium on Monday is a do or die for them. Pant is under pressure to perform well with both bat and captaincy in this match.

The team has strong batsmen like Nicholas Pooran, David Miller and Mitchell Marsh, while the bowling has names like Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan.

Still, due to Pant’s poor form and lack of captaincy, the team is not getting the results that were expected.

    What is Pant’s future?

Pant’s performance is also being discussed a lot on social media. Some fans are missing his old explosive style, while some believe that he should shed the burden of captaincy and focus only on batting.

At the same time, Ravi Shastri had recently said that Pant can become the captain of India in Test cricket.

But if Pant wants his old rhythm and confidence back, then he will have to do something big soon.
