Qualifier 2 of IPL 2025 is going to be held in Ahmedabad today, where Punjab Kings (PBKS) will face Mumbai Indians (MI).
All eyes are on Yuzvendra Chahal, who looks set to make a comeback after injury. But there is speculation whether he will play today.

Why wait for Yuzvendra Chahal’s return?
Punjab Kings bought Chahal for 18 crores in the 2025 mega auction. This leg-spinner is known for his finesse and experience. He took 14 wickets this season, including a memorable match against KKR to defend 111 runs.
But a wrist injury kept him out of the last few matches, including the loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Qualifier 1.
Currently, there is news that Chahal has started bowling in the nets. During training on Saturday, he was seen playing football, catching and throwing the ball. He looks completely fit with protection on his wrist.
Fans hope that he will trap MI batsmen in his spin today. However, the final decision on his fitness will be taken before the match.
Mumbai Indians’ challenge against Punjab
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians are in great form. They made it to Qualifier 2 by defeating Gujarat Titans by 20 runs in the Eliminator.
The batting of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, as well as the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah, make MI a strong contender.
But there is news that Richard Gleeson, in place of Bumrah, did wonders in the Eliminator, and his fitness is also in question for today. If Bumrah plays, then the problems for PBKS may increase.

In such a situation, if Chahal plays, he can become a big threat to MI’s top order, especially Rohit and Surya.
On the other hand, MI’s strategy will be to take advantage of PBKS’s weak middle overs bowling. Both teams are desperate to make it to the final, and this match is going to be tough.
