The 12th match of IPL 2026, scheduled between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS), was being played on Monday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata; however, the match could not be completed due to rain.

Play had to be halted after just 3.4 overs, and ultimately, the match was declared abandoned.
Consequently, in accordance with the rules, both teams were awarded one point each.
Xavier Bartlett Delivers Early Success for Punjab
In this match, KKR won the toss and elected to bat first. The team began cautiously, but the Punjab Kings soon managed to secure wickets.
Punjab bowler Xavier Bartlett delivered a brilliant spell, claiming two crucial wickets. First, he dismissed Finn Allen, who returned to the pavilion after scoring 6 runs off 7 balls.
Subsequently, Cameron Green also failed to last long at the crease; he was caught out after scoring just 4 runs off 2 balls.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane was at the crease at the time and had scored 8 runs off 6 balls.
Batting alongside him was Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who remained unbeaten on 7 runs. When play was halted, KKR had reached a total of 25 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 3.4 overs.
Match Called Off; KKR and PBKS Awarded 1 Point Each
During the fourth over, heavy rain began to fall suddenly, forcing the players to leave the field.
The ground staff covered the pitch, and a lengthy wait ensued; however, the weather conditions did not improve.
Eventually, the umpires and match officials decided to call off the contest.
According to IPL regulations, whenever a match concludes without a definitive result, both teams are awarded one point each; consequently, KKR and PBKS each received one point in the points table.
