The passion for cricket is seen on every street corner in India, but now this passion is going to get a new platform, the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) has launched a national cricket structure, which aims to make tennis-ball cricket bigger.
This initiative has also got the full support of the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin says that this structure will give a chance to the hidden talent in every corner of the country.

The ISPL, which started in 2024, has seen the registration of more than 42 lakh players so far.
Players like Abhishek Dalhor, who came out of the ISPL to become a net bowler in the IPL, are proof of its success.
ISPL core committee member Sachin Tendulkar praised this initiative and said,
“Identifying talent at grassroots is the first step towards building a robust future for the sport. With ISPL’s new national framework, players from every corner of India now have a clear pathway to hone their skills and showcase their talent on a bigger stage. This framework ensures every player gets a fair chance to get noticed and progress, turning their love for the game into real opportunities at a national level.”
That is, finding talent at the grassroots is the first step towards a robust future for the sport.
What is special in this new framework?
ISPL has divided the country into eight regions, such as West (Mazhi Mumbai), North (Srinagar Veer), East (Kolkata Tigers) etc. Each region will have a panel that will manage cricket activities.
This will include franchise owners, scouting heads and tournament representatives. These panels will ensure that every player gets equal opportunities.
- Regional Panel: System divided into eight regions, such as Maharashtra-Goa, Punjab-Haryana, Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh etc.
- Transparent Selection: From Season 4, players will be able to enter the league only through regional panels.
- Live Ranking: Ranking of top 1,000 cricketers will be visible live on the ISPL app and website.
- Grading System: Players will be graded based on their performance.
ISPL Commissioner Suraj Samat said,
“The remarkable growth of the Indian Street Premier League is a testament to the immense passion for tennis-ball cricket across the country. By implementing a robust and competitive framework, we are committed to identifying and nurturing emerging talent while strengthening the broader cricket ecosystem.”
That is, this league will further increase the passion for tennis-ball cricket in the country.
