Major drama has erupted ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. There were talks between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) about acquiring Sanju Samson, but Ravindra Jadeja flatly refused.
Now all eyes are on whether Samson will come to CSK through a cash deal.
Why Jadeja Rejected the Trade Deal
CSK had offered to give Jadeja or Sam Curran to RR to buy Samson. But Jadeja immediately said “No.” According to reporter Rohit Juglan, Jadeja said he did not want to move to any other team.
He has been with CSK for years and prefers to stay. This completely shuts down the idea of a player swap.
Samson insists on a cash deal
Now, CSK has only one option left: to buy Samson by paying full cash. Samson is very keen to join CSK. He is a fan of MS Dhoni’s calm team culture.
RR may have to pay Rs 18 crore. If this deal goes through, it will be one of the most expensive trades in the IPL.
RR will receive this money to strengthen their middle order. Negotiations are underway between the two teams regarding a cash deal.
Jadeja made his debut for RR in 2008 and became a ‘rockstar’ playing alongside Shane Warne.
But now, his heart beats only for CSK. He has won six IPL trophies and scored 3,260 runs in 254 matches.
