Punjab Kings bowling coach James Hopes has described Shreyas as a captain with a “golden touch”. Be it a rain of runs with the bat or clever decisions on the field, Shreyas is dominating everywhere.
Hopes praised Shreyas in an interview
He said, “Whatever Shreyas touched, it turned into gold. Many times I thought that we should do something else in bowling, but Shreyas’s decision was always on point and we got wickets.”
Punjab Kings is now not only in the playoffs, but is also in the race to make it to the top-2. Hopes told that the team’s plan is to play the playoffs at their home ground in Mullanpur and reach the final.

Hopes said, “Shreyas is now more mature than ever. After winning the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders, his confidence is visible. He is one of the calmest captains, who handles every difficult situation with ease.”

About the team’s star bowler Arshdeep Singh, Hopes said, “Arshdeep is an amazing bowler. He always tries something new and this season his swing has surprised the batsmen. He is still young, but can become a big star of T20 cricket in the coming times.”
Punjab Kings is now dreaming of winning the IPL trophy for the first time.
“We want two chances to reach the final by finishing in the top two. Playing in front of our fans in Mullanpur will be special for us,” Hopes said.
