Team India is going to play a big five-Test series against England at Headingley Stadium in Leeds from June 20. But just before the first Test, a little drama happened in the nets.

Returning star batsman Karun Nair got hit by a ball from fast bowler Prasidh Krishna in the practice session. This news was a bit tense for the fans, but the relief is that the injury is not too serious.
Mild commotion in the nets
According to a report by RevSportz, Prasidh Krishna’s ball hit Karun Nair’s ribs during the nets at Headingley. The pictures clearly showed that the support staff immediately examined him. But there is nothing to worry about.
After some medical help, Nair and the rest of the players were seen laughing and joking.
RevSportz posted on X, “#KarunNair got hit by @prasidh43 at the nets in Headingley.”
“Nothing serious as there laughs after a small medical attention.”
Karun Nair is 33 years old and is making a comeback to the Test team after eight years. He made headlines in 2016 by scoring 303 not out against England. He is the only Indian after Virender Sehwag to score a triple century in Tests.
But he was dropped from the team in 2017 after some poor performances. Still, Nair did not give up.
After leaving Karnataka and playing for Vidarbha, he scored 863 runs in the Ranji Trophy in the 2024-25 season, including four centuries. His bat also produced five centuries in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Will Nair become the hero of the middle order?
After the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from Tests, Nair has a golden opportunity to cement his place in the middle order. Anil Kumble has described him as a strong contender for number 4.
Some reports say that he can also bat at number 3, while Shubman Gill can bat at number 4 and Yashasvi Jaiswal-KL Rahul can open.
Nair has also scored a double century for India A against England Lions, which shows his form.
All eyes will be on Karun Nair in the Leeds Test. Will he make his comeback memorable?
