Wiaan Mulder’s maiden Test century made Day 3 unforgettable for South Africa. The young player finally got his first hundred in Test cricket. He scored 147 runs and looked comfortable throughout his innings. His knock put Zimbabwe in a very difficult spot.

South Africa needed someone to step up on Day 3. Mulder did exactly that for his team. He batted with great confidence and hit many beautiful shots. The crowd loved watching him play so well.

Wiaan Mulder didn’t do it alone though. Tony de Zorzi helped him early on. They put together 63 runs before de Zorzi got out. This partnership gave South Africa a good start.

South Africa declared their innings at 369 runs. This gave them a lead of 537 runs overall. Zimbabwe now needs to score 538 runs to win the match.
That’s a huge target in Test cricket. Very few teams have ever chased such big scores. Zimbabwe will need something special to even save the match.
By the end of Day 3, Zimbabwe had started their tough chase. They were 32 runs for 1 wicket when stumps were called. Takudzwanashe Kaitano and Prince Masvaure were still batting.
