The clash between Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh in the Super League match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 was a treat to watch. Nitish Kumar Reddy performed brilliantly, but his efforts were in vain.

Andhra scored only 112 runs, and MP chased down the target comfortably. The match was played at the DY Patil Academy, Pune.
Andhra Pradesh needed quick wickets to put pressure on MP. Nitish wreaked havoc with the last three balls of the third over.
First, he bowled Harsh Gawli, then had Harpreet Bhatia caught out, and finally, Rajat Patil was run out when the ball hit his stumps. MP was reduced to 14 for three.
BCCI Domestic tweeted: “🚨 HAT-TRICK ALERT 🚨 Moment of sheer brilliance by Nitish Kumar Reddy as he completed a superb hat-trick against Madhya Pradesh in the Super League Stage in Pune 👏#SMAT | @IDFCFIRSTBank | @NKReddy07”
Andhra Pradesh start was impressive, but then everything went wrong
MP didn’t give up after that. Venkatesh Iyer also departed, leaving the score at 37 for 4. It seemed Andhra Pradesh would win the match. But Rishabh Chauhan and Rahul Batham made a comeback. The two shared a 73-run partnership.
Chauhan scored 47 runs off 43 balls, and Batham remained unbeaten on 35 runs off 32 balls. In the end, MP achieved the target of 113 runs with 15 balls remaining. They won by four wickets and earned four points.
Andhra had a poor start batting first. They lost two wickets for 7 runs. Nitish and KS Bharat then put on a 50-run partnership. Bharat made 39 runs, but was dismissed by Venkatesh Iyer.
Andhra then collapsed, losing eight wickets for just 55 runs. They were all out for 112 in 19.1 overs. MP’s bowlers bowled brilliantly.
Shivam Shukla took four wickets for 23 runs, Tripuresh Singh took three for 31. Batham also took two wickets. Four Andhra batsmen were dismissed for zero.
Andhra Pradesh next match is against Punjab. MP will face Jharkhand on December 14th. Their confidence is high after this win.
