One of the biggest matches in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025—India vs Pakistan—has taken a dramatic turn off the field.

After the much-anticipated match was called off, the Pakistan Champions have made headlines by refusing to share points, claiming Team India backed out of the encounter.

This unexpected twist has left fans shocked and disappointed, especially those hoping to see cricket’s fiercest rivalry play out once again—even in the legends format.

“India Backed Out,” Says Pakistan Camp

The Pakistan Champions’ team management has come forward with a strong statement. They insist that their side was ready to play and had not agreed to share points with India.

“India backed out, not us. So why should the points be split?” said a team official, as reported by Times of India.

This challenges earlier assumptions that both teams agreed to cancel the match due to unforeseen issues. According to Pakistan’s side, the call-off wasn’t mutual.

WCL Responds to Backlash: “We Didn’t Intend to Upset Anyone”

The WCL organizers later issued a statement saying they “unintentionally caused discomfort” to players and regretted the way things were handled. However, they did not mention which team initiated the match cancellation, leaving room for further confusion.

What If India vs Pakistan Happens Again?

In an interview with News Chennal, Inzamam-ul-Haq, owner of Pakistan Champions and WCL co-founder, cleared the air about what would happen if India and Pakistan face off again later in the tournament—possibly in the final.

“If both teams reach the final, the match will happen. There will be no walkovers or point-sharing,” he confirmed.

That means fans might still get the showdown they’ve been waiting for—just not yet.

Fans Left Disappointed, Hope for Rematch

Cricket fans, especially from India and Pakistan, took to social media to express frustration. For many, even in a legends tournament, an India vs Pakistan match is a blockbuster—and having it called off without clarity left them with more questions than answers.

    What’s Next?

Both India Champions and Pakistan Champions are among the top-performing teams in the WCL 2025. If they keep winning, they might meet in the semi-finals or the grand final, setting the stage for a high-stakes, much-awaited encounter.

For now, all eyes are on the tournament’s progress—and whether we’ll get that fiery India vs Pakistan clash after all.
