PCB just made one of their dumbest decisions in recent cricket history. They voluntarily blocked PSL broadcasting in India completely. India was actually one of their biggest revenue markets before this mess.

Sony Sports had already picked up PSL rights last season successfully. PCB threw that money away because of political tensions between countries. Cricket fans suffer the most whenever politics enters the sport badly.
The PSL 11th edition starts on March 26, 2026. Eight teams will compete after adding Sialkot Stallionz and Kingsmen Hyderabad. The final happens on May 3, 2026 after an exciting tournament.
Money Problems Keep Mounting
PCB couldn’t even find a domestic broadcaster for PSL right now. January bidding rounds failed because nobody met their reserve price. That reserve price was set too high because of eight-team expansion.
No second round of bidding has been confirmed or scheduled yet. PCB basically shot themselves in the foot with this pricing strategy. Losing Indian broadcast rights makes their financial situation dramatically worse now.
The player auction happens on February 11, 2026 before the season. Teams can sign one direct player this edition for the first time. That new rule adds excitement but costs money PCB doesn’t have.
T20 World Cup Boycott Creates Ripple Effects
Pakistan’s government told the team not to play India on February 15. PCB hasn’t formally notified ICC about this selective playing stance. They’re quietly supporting the government’s position without saying anything officially.
This mirrors exactly what Bangladesh did before getting removed from tournaments. Pakistan actually supported Bangladesh during that entire controversy back then. Now they’re doing the same thing and expecting different results somehow.
ICC sanctions look increasingly likely against PCB moving forward now. Foreign players might stop coming to PSL if bans happen. England players probably won’t receive NOCs from their boards.
Consequences Could Be Devastating
Revenue losses will hit Pakistani cricket from multiple directions simultaneously. No Indian broadcast money plus no domestic broadcaster equals massive financial trouble. PCB’s treasury is looking emptier with every single decision they make.
A potential overall ban on Pakistan cricket remains on the table. That would destroy PSL completely and hurt Pakistani players enormously. PCB keeps making foolish moves while ignoring the bigger picture entirely.
