Pakistan Cricket Board is juggling dates again for their home series! They want to shift the ODI series against Australia scheduled for March 2026. The reason behind this move is pretty straightforward – avoiding clashes with PSL. The PCB learned their lesson after facing scheduling nightmares with the Champions Trophy earlier.

Australia’s Twin Tour to Pakistan
Australia plans to visit Pakistan twice during early 2026 surprisingly. The first trip happens from January 30 to February 5 next year. They’ll play three T20 matches during that visit to prepare properly. This series helps both teams gear up for the T20 World Cup 2026.
Then the Aussies were supposed to return in March for ODIs. The three-match ODI series was originally set for March 13 to 19. But PCB realized this creates a massive problem with their plans.
Why PSL Scheduling Matters So Much
The Pakistan Super League holds huge importance for PCB’s revenue and planning. They want to organize PSL around March which clashes with Australia’s visit. Running both tournaments together just doesn’t work logistically at all.
PCB already messed up their PSL schedule once before this year. The ICC Champions Trophy forced them to change everything back then. That experience taught them to plan better this time around.
This upcoming PSL season brings even more excitement with two new teams. Adding fresh franchises makes the tournament bigger and more complicated to manage. The PCB can’t afford another scheduling disaster with so much at stake.
Talks Continue Between PCB and Cricket Australia
Both cricket boards are discussing new dates for the ODI series actively. Finding a suitable window that works for everyone isn’t easy though. Australia has their own packed international calendar to consider too.
The PCB wants to finalize things quickly before other complications arise unexpectedly. Cricket Australia seems willing to cooperate and find a solution together. Both boards understand the importance of completing this bilateral series properly.
The rescheduled dates should come out soon once negotiations are complete. Pakistan fans hope the ODI series happens without further delays or cancellations.
