Five rounds of the Ranji Trophy have been completed. Mumbai, Bengal, Karnataka, and Vidarbha are in the top four.
Yash Dhull played a blistering innings of 189 runs against Rajasthan, forcing a draw, but Delhi still failed to win. Five matches, zero wins, this is Delhi’s woes this season.

Rinku Singh’s 176 saved Uttar Pradesh, while Mumbai crushed Pondicherry.
The first red-ball phase of the Ranji Trophy is over. After five matches, Mumbai, Bengal, Karnataka, and Vidarbha are at the top of the points table.
These four teams are in tremendous form. There is a break until January 22nd. Syed Mushtaq Ali (T20) and Vijay Hazare (50-over) matches will be played in between. Then Ranji will return.
Ranji Trophy: Rinku Singh shines again
UP was in trouble against Tamil Nadu. First, they conceded 455 runs, then their top order lost 5 wickets for 191. Everyone was thinking, now the follow-on is certain.
But Rinku Singh came on and turned the game around.
He played slowly, handled the spinners well, forged a 100-plus partnership with Shivam Mavi, and then smashed 176 runs, hitting 17 fours and 6 sixes. Uttar Pradesh took the lead in the first innings and 3 points. Without Rinku, the match would have been lost.

Mumbai defeated Pondicherry by an innings and 222 runs at the Wankhede. They took the remaining 4 wickets in just 9 overs on the final day.
Tushar Deshpande struck 2 early morning wickets, while Shardul Thakur also took 2 wickets. Sarfaraz Khan took 3 catches. With bonus points, Mumbai reached the top spot. Shardul’s team looks the most dangerous at the moment.
