Ravindra Jadeja claimed the final Bangladesh wicket on day four of the second Test, reaching the milestone of 300 wickets in red-ball cricket. With Bangladesh down to their last wicket, India captain Rohit Sharma brought the left-arm spinner into the attack.

Jadeja then had Khaled Ahmed caught off a return catch marking a significant moment for the all-rounder. Bangladesh, who batted first, completed their innings after rain washed out play on the second and third days.

The visitors were bowled out for 233, with Mominul Haque standing out with an unbeaten 107. Jasprit Bumrah led the Indian bowling effort, taking 3 for 50, while Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin and Akash Deep contributed with two wickets apiece.

Jadeja now becomes the seventh Indian to achieve 300 Test wickets joining an elite group led by the legendary Anil Kumble (619 wickets), followed by Ravichandran Ashwin (523), Kapil Dev (434), Harbhajan Singh (417), Zaheer Khan (311), and Ishant Sharma (311).

However Jadeja is the second-fastest Indian to reach 300 wickets in terms of balls bowled. He has bowled 17,428 deliveries to reach this milestone, second only to Ashwin, who did so in 15,636 deliveries.

In addition to his bowling prowess Jadeja has also made a mark with the bat, scoring 3,122 runs in Test cricket at an average of 36.73, including 4 centuries and 21 fifties.
