Suresh Raina spoke strongly against trading Ravindra Jadeja away from CSK. The former CSK star believes Jadeja must stay with Chennai always. His warning comes as trade talks heat up between franchises.

Raina’s Strong Message to CSK
Trade rumours link Ravindra Jadeja with the Rajasthan Royals before IPL 2026. CSK might swap him for Sanju Samson in a deal. But Suresh Raina opposes this move completely and publicly now.
Raina shared his thoughts during a talk on JioStar recently. He called Jadeja a pivotal player for the Chennai Super Kings. The all-rounder’s role cannot be replaced easily by anyone else.
“Ravindra Jadeja should be retained again. He is a gun player for CSK. He has done really, really well for the team over the years, so ‘Sir Ravindra Jadeja’ has to be there,” Raina said.
CSK management has already contacted Jadeja about his future plans. This shows uncertainty exists around whether he stays or leaves. The franchise wants to know what Jadeja thinks before deciding.
Sam Curran’s name also appears in these trade discussions surprisingly. Rajasthan Royals want multiple players from CSK in any deal. The negotiations have become quite complicated between the teams here.
Keep Core Players Together
Raina urged CSK to retain MS Dhoni for another season. He also wants Noor Ahmad to be kept as their mystery spinner. These players form the backbone of CSK’s success over the years.
The CSK legend suggested releasing Devon Conway before the mini-auction. Vijay Shankar and Deepak Hooda should also leave according to him. CSK needs a quality local opener instead of these players.
Previous trade talks between the Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals failed badly. RR wanted Sanju Samson to leave, but couldn’t finalize terms. Now they target CSK players for possible swap deals instead.
Experience Matters Most
Raina knows CSK’s culture and winning formula better than most people. He spent many successful years playing for the franchise himself. His opinion carries serious weight in Chennai’s cricket circles.
Jadeja brings balance to CSK with batting, bowling, and fielding skills. Losing him would create a huge gap in team composition. The all-rounder has won matches single-handedly for CSK many times.
CSK must listen to Raina’s advice about keeping their core strong. Trading away proven match-winners rarely works well for teams.
