The confusion surrounding Ravindra Jadeja’s team for IPL 2026 is about to end. The ongoing trade deal between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) has now reached its final stage.

Reports suggest that Jadeja may return to RR, where his IPL journey began. Jadeja, who won the title with RR in 2008, could now make his homecoming after 17 years.
Ravindra Jadeja which team in IPL 2026?
According to a report, “Rajasthan Royals are set to trade wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in exchange for all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.” This deal could become one of the biggest trades in IPL history.
Deal Details: Is Jadeja’s return to RR confirmed?
Trade talks are rife as the Next IPL retention deadline is November 15th. CSK is offering Sam Curran along with Jadeja to acquire Samson. Curran was bought by CSK for ₹2.4 crore (2.4 crore) in IPL 2025, but his performance has been poor.
Both Jadeja and Samson are retained players worth ₹18 crore (18 crore), so the value is balancing out. A Times Now report states, “Ravindra Jadeja is all set to be traded to the Rajasthan Royals for Sanju Samson.”
The franchise has submitted an expression of interest to the IPL Governing Council and has received player consent.
Under BCCI rules, the trade must be finalized within 48 hours. Since Curran is an overseas player, an NOC from the ECB is required. RR owner Manoj Badale is leading the negotiations, while CSK says that trading Jadeja is a major sacrifice.
Jadeja played 254 matches for CSK, taking 143 wickets, and winning 16 Player of the Match awards. However, his chances of appearing in an RR jersey in 2026 IPL appear strong.
If the trade is completed, the IPL 2026 auction will take place on December 15. RR will receive Jadeja along with Curran, who was the most expensive player for PBKS in IPL 2023. CSK will now focus on young talent like Brevis.
After BCCI approval, an official announcement will come, and then it will be clear which team Ravindra Jadeja will play for in IPL 2026.
