Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh recently welcomed their second child – a baby boy. The couple already parents to their 6-year-old daughter Samaira – kept the news of the pregnancy private until the last moment.

Rohit confirmed the birth on Instagram posting a photo with the caption: 15.11.2024. The image itself featured the word FAMILY styled after the popular TV show Friends with the phrase “the one where we are four.”

Reports suggest that despite doubts about his availability for the first Test in Perth Rohit might travel to Australia sooner than expected due to the early arrival of his baby boy. In his absence KL Rahul or Abhimanyu Easwaran might step in as openers while Jasprit Bumrah is set to lead if Rohit is unable to make it in time.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is highly anticipated not only for the intense rivalry but also for its impact on World Test Championship (WTC) qualification. After a whitewash against New Zealand India needs to secure at least four wins in Australia to qualify for the WTC final.
