Navjot Singh Sidhu is furious over a fake news going viral on social media. The news claimed Sidhu had said that the BCCI should remove Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir and reinstate Rohit Sharma as captain to win the 2027 World Cup.
But Sidhu called this all a lie and asked such people to feel ashamed.

Truth behind the fake post
This fake post was circulating before the India-Australia series. It attributed Sidhu’s name to the tweet, claiming he wanted Agarkar and Gambhir removed and Rohit back as captain.
Sidhu immediately responded: “Never said it, don’t spread fake news, never imagined it. Shame on you.”
He said he could never have imagined such a thing and told those spreading the fake news, “Shame on you.”
Major changes are underway within the Indian team. Shubman Gill has been appointed the new ODI and Test captain. Everyone is wondering what the future holds for seniors like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The 2027 World Cup is still two years away, but the BCCI is considering giving young players a chance.
What’s happening in the team?
Ajit Agarkar said about Kohli and Rohit:
“They are part of the squad at the moment in Australia. They are incredible players, but this is not the forum to harp on individual performances.
Two years from now, it’s difficult to predict the situation. Who knows, younger players may emerge and claim those spots. Both are great players, and they will not be judged in every match.
Once they start playing, we will assess the situation. It’s about winning trophies, not just scoring runs. It’s not like if they score three hundreds in the Australia series, they will automatically play for the 2027 World Cup. We have to take the overall situation into account.”
The BCCI is now making decisions based on performance. New players are arriving, while old stars are still playing. All eyes are on Rohit and Kohli in the Australia series.
Gambhir is the coach, Agarkar is the chief selector; together they are reshaping the team. Avoid fake news, focus on real updates.
