Shreyas Iyer Injury Update: There’s some good news for India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer. He has been discharged from a hospital in Sydney.

He was admitted after suffering an injury in the third ODI against Australia on October 25th.
According to the Shreyas Iyer Health Update, he is fine and recovering well.

Shreyas Iyer Discharged: What happened that day?
During the match, Shreyas Iyer took a brilliant catch of Alex Carey while running behind point. He took the catch, but suffered a severe injury near his ribs upon landing.
He immediately lay down on the field, clutching his ribs, and sought medical help. He was taken off the field and then to the hospital.
It was discovered that he had suffered a laceration in his spleen and bleeding had begun.

Injury Update: What’s the plan now?
The BCCI released a statement this morning. Secretary Devajit Saikia said:
“The injury was promptly identified, and the bleeding was immediately arrested following a minor procedure. He has undergone appropriate medical management for the same.
He is now stable and recovering well. The BCCI medical team, along with specialists in Sydney and India, are pleased with his recovery, and he has been discharged from the hospital today.”
Dr. Koroush Haghighi and his team conducted the treatment in Sydney, while Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala guided him from India.
After being discharged, Shreyas Iyer will remain in Sydney. He will undergo follow-up checkups and will return to India once he is fit.
Regarding his health, doctors are happy. A minor procedure was performed and the bleeding has stopped. Now, it’s just rest and monitoring.
India is trailing 0-1 in the T20 series, but the update is that Shreyas Iyer’s health is now out of danger.
