Shreyas Iyer is going through a tough time right now. The “Sarpanch” lost two big finals this month. Both defeats happened within just a few days of each other. This has been his worst month in recent years.

First, Punjab Kings lost the IPL 2025 final to RCB. Shreyas captained Punjab but couldn’t win the trophy. Royal Challengers Bengaluru played better on the big day. This loss hurt Shreyas and his team badly.
Just days later, another final defeat followed for Shreyas. His local team SoBo Mumbai Falcons lost the T20 Mumbai League. Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals beat them in the final. Shreyas couldn’t help his team win this time either.

But June changed everything for the Mumbai batter completely. Two consecutive losses have shaken his confidence a bit. Shreyas admits these defeats hurt him more than usual. Final losses always sting more than regular match defeats.
Rohit Sharma Supports His Teammate
Rohit Sharma attended the T20 Mumbai League final personally. The Indian captain wanted to support Shreyas during difficulties. Both players come from Mumbai and understand each other well. Rohit’s presence meant a lot to Shreyas that day.
Despite Rohit’s support, Shreyas couldn’t perform his best batting. The pressure of finals sometimes affects even experienced players. Shreyas tried his hardest but couldn’t change the result. His teammates also struggled in both important matches.
After the Mumbai League final, Shreyas spoke honestly about defeats. He told reporters that losing teaches important life lessons. The Indian batter wants his team to stay positive. These setbacks will make them stronger for future tournaments.
Building Mental Strength for Future Challenges
Shreyas believes his teams played well throughout both tournaments. Reaching finals means they did many things correctly earlier. Only the final matches went wrong for them, unfortunately. He praised his teammates for their fighting spirit always.
