WPL 2025 RCB vs MI Women After Match Players Statement

Sneh Rana is the Player of the Match, here is what she had to say: Shoulder is good now. Bowlers have pretty simple things to do. Quick ball was coming onto the bat nicely. We wanted to change pace and bowl it wide. Smriti used me beautifully as she me towards the longer boundary against right handers. The role is lesser here due to Smriti but I always try to give my inputs. At the start I went unsold but I would thank RCB for picking me in the end. I am really thankful and looking forward to the next season.

Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain): Yeah I think we just discussed that we started on a high and finished on a high but lost momentum in the middle. There were several bowlers from the last year missing this year. I felt it won’t be a huge thing for us. Lots of tosses didn’t go out our way. We couldn’t quite find our game in the middle stages. We were thinking to get a 12 run over. I thought or Jositha and Prema and whenever I thought about that Sciver-Brunt started hitting boundaries and I stuck with experience. Pretty much as a team we started well, lost touch in the middle and then finished well. Only takeway from me as a batter that being in touch and not scoring and I am happy to contribute today. You play everywhere in India, they are always chanting RCB RCB. They keep backing them. I remember one instance that during one match in Bangalore, the opposition needed 1 off 25 or something but they were still shouting RCB RCB.

Richa Ghosh, Royal Challengers Bengaluru: For me this season has been nice, there was momentum, the ball was going well off my bat. It was the same today. Whenever I get free time I work on my batting – to find out ways to rescue my team in case of quick early wickets and find ways to take the game deep and win it for my team. I back my style, and react as per the nature of the pitch at times. When a wicket-keeper contributes on the field by making stops it benefits the team. I’m enjoying that, I’m enjoying wicket-keeping. The bonding is good, got inputs from the coaches as well.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Mumbai Indians captain: This ground is about saving those boundaries. We gave 40 runs in the last two overs, that’s what cost us, otherwise we were in the game. We knew 180 was chasable, that’s what we saw in the last game. Our team batted well, match was on, the way Sajana was batting we hoped she can win the game for us. Other batters contributed too. The outfield here is fast. That is going to play a big role. Need to come up with a big plan with the bowling. I’m fine (on the wrist injury). We have one more day to our next game. Let’s see what’s best for us. We just need to stay calm and in the moment. Cricket is a game of winning small moments. We have a great record against GG, we have to come up with some good plans against them, though. She’s working in three departments, good to see her contributing to the team (On Amanjot).
