Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen made a big statement about the team’s batting after the 5-wicket defeat to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
He clearly said that SRH is not dependent only on Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, but the team has power hitters till number 8.

Actually, SRH registered a thumping win against Rajasthan Royals by scoring 286/6 in the first match of the season, but their batting looked weak against LSG.
After this, in this match played on 27 March, SRH batted first and scored 190 runs for 9 wickets. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed after scoring just 6 runs, while Ishan Kishan went for zero on the first ball. Travis Head scored 47 runs, but the rest of the batsmen could not play a big innings.
Now the question arises whether SRH should change its strategy.
After losing the match, Heinrich Klaasen said in a conversation with the media,
“If we look at our batting lineup, we have dangerous batsmen till number 8. We do not need to depend on Travis and Abhishek every time. Whenever they score runs, the team benefits, but we are capable of scoring even without them.”
Klaasen also admitted that the team’s way of playing is a bit risky, but this is their aggressive style.
He said, “It will never happen that both the players score more than 1000 runs in every match. This is our way of playing – a bit risky. But we have many big players who can turn the match at any time. We have confidence in ourselves.”
Klaasen also talked about the reason for the defeat.
He said, “We did not score 210-220 on a good wicket, which was required on this ground. 1-2 wickets fell in an unfortunate way – one catch went to the leg side and one hit the bowler’s hand and hit the stumps. This is part of the game, but we have to learn from our mistakes.”
SRH will now face Delhi Capitals on March 30. Fans hope that the team will learn from this defeat and make a strong comeback.
