Team India registered a resounding victory in the 27th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 played between India and Pakistan at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

India, batting first, scored 175 for 7 in 20 overs, in response to which Pakistan were bundled out for 114 in just 18 overs.
Ishan Kishan’s explosive half-century and the Indian bowlers’ superb performance left Pakistan completely helpless.
After winning the toss, Pakistan decided to bowl first. India had a poor start, with Abhishek Sharma caught by Shaheen Afridi off Salman Agha on the very first ball.
The team’s first wicket fell at just 1 run. But then Ishan Kishan set the field on fire. He played an aggressive innings of 77 runs in just 40 balls, including 10 fours and 3 sixes. Kishan’s strike rate was 192.50, which reflects his aggressive nature.
Tilak and Suryakumar took charge
After Ishan Kishan’s dismissal, Tilak Verma and captain Suryakumar Yadav steadied the innings. Tilak scored 25 runs in 24 balls, while Suryakumar played a responsible innings of 32 runs in 29 balls.
Hardik Pandya was dismissed without scoring, but Shivam Dubey’s stormy innings of 27 runs in 17 balls in the last overs helped the team to a good score. Rinku Singh accelerated the innings by scoring 11 runs in just 4 balls.
For Pakistan, Sam Ayub took 3 wickets, while Salman Agha, Shaheen Afridi, and Usman Tariq each took one wicket.
In reply, Pakistan had a poor start. Hardik Pandya dismissed Sahibzada Farhan in the very first over, caught by Rinku Singh.
Jasprit Bumrah dealt a blow to Pakistan by dismissing Sam Ayub and Salman Agha in the next over. Babar Azam was also bowled by Axar Patel for 5 runs.
Indian bowlers did wonders
Usman Khan tried to revive the team by scoring 44 runs in 34 balls, but Axar Patel had him stumped by Ishan Kishan.
Shaheen Afridi remained unbeaten on 23 runs in 19 balls, but by then the match was already out of India’s hands.
Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav also performed brilliantly, taking 2 wickets each.
Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah also took 2 wickets each. Pakistan were bowled out for 114 runs in 18 overs, and India won by a huge margin of 61 runs.
