All twenty teams have finally locked in their squads completely. The T20 World Cup 2026 team players list came together after months of selection drama. Every team submitted their final names by the January 31 deadline exactly.

This marks the 10th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. India and Sri Lanka co-host the tournament from February 7 to March 8. Fifty-five matches will happen across eight different venues during this period.

Five venues sit in India while three are located in Sri Lanka. The format stays exactly the same as the 2024 edition. Twenty international sides battle it out for cricket’s shortest format trophy.

    Major Team Leadership Changes

India named Suryakumar Yadav as captain for the T20 World Cup 2026. That’s a massive change from their previous leadership setup honestly. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both retired from T20Is after winning in 2024.

The team will miss those legends badly during crucial moments. Shubman Gill also got left out despite being the ODI and Test captain. The players list focuses on younger, aggressive batters and bowlers instead.

England handed the captaincy to Harry Brook for this tournament surprisingly. Australia sticks with Mitchell Marsh leading their squad forward confidently. These leadership changes make the T20 World Cup 2026 even more unpredictable now.

    Squad (Players List) Announcement Timeline

Sri Lanka became the last side to announce their final players list. Bangladesh withdrew from the entire tournament citing security concerns about playing in India. Scotland replaced them as the 20th team participating here.

That Bangladesh withdrawal created massive controversy across cricket circles globally. Scotland grabbed the opportunity with both hands after getting the call. Their players deserve this chance to shine on the world stage.
