Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has been troubled by injury ahead of the Australia tour. Arshdeep was seen limping on the field during India A’s third unofficial ODI against Australia A.

His injury has raised concerns among fans and team management, as he is a key part of the Indian squad for the ODI and T20 series.
The physio examined him, and it appeared he might have a knee or back problem. Arshdeep bowled brilliantly, but the injury surprised everyone.
What happened on the field?
Arshdeep shared the new ball with Harshit Rana and dismissed both Australia A openers. Both bowlers took two wickets each, giving Australia A a poor start.
But after bowling five overs, Arshdeep stopped at the third man boundary and appeared to be limping.
Sportstar’s Abhishek Saini reported, “There is definitely something wrong with Arshdeep; either in his side or his back. He is still bowling, but stops in between due to discomfort. Arshdeep has gone off the field.”
He then walked off the field, further fueling concerns.
Impact on Australia Tour
Arshdeep has been selected in the ODI and T20 squads for the Australia tour. Jasprit Bumrah has been rested from ODIs as his focus is on the 2026 T20 World Cup. In such a scenario, Arshdeep could share the pace bowling reins with Mohammed Siraj.
Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna are also in the ODI squad, but Arshdeep’s injury has raised questions about the team’s strategy.
Coach Gautam Gambhir has previously given Arshdeep limited opportunities in T20s, but he will be needed on Australia’s fast pitches.
Spinners Nishant Sindhu and Ayush Badoni also performed well in the India A match, but the fast bowlers dominated.
The severity of Arshdeep’s injury is not yet known. The team management is monitoring his fitness.
If he doesn’t fully recover, India may have to adjust their pace attack. The lack of an experienced bowler like Arshdeep could be felt in the difficult Australian conditions.
