India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has given an emotional statement about his retirement ahead of the England Test series.

Bumrah shared his heart’s feelings while talking to former Australia captain Michael Clarke in the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast.
He said that he will play as long as his body and enthusiasm support him. But this journey will not last forever.
31-year-old Bumrah’s words on Beyond23 Cricket Podcast
“I love cricket very much. When I went to Australia, many children came to me there and tried to imitate my bowling action. I felt very good seeing this, because I used to do the same.
But this journey will not last forever. Whenever it ends, I want to give something back to cricket. This is the game that taught me everything.”
Bumrah also told how difficult it is for a fast bowler to play continuously in every format.
He says, “I have been playing every format for a long time, but now I have to understand my body. I have to play smartly by looking at which tournaments are important.
As a cricketer, I never want to step back, but I have to listen to my body.”
He also said that he does not set big targets. “I live one day at a time. As long as my enthusiasm and hard work is intact, I will continue to play. But the day I feel that my body is not supporting me or my enthusiasm is decreasing, that day I will take the decision of retirement.”
Bumrah is counted among the most dangerous bowlers of today’s era. He has taken 205 wickets in just 45 Tests.
Be it Test, ODI or T20, Bumrah has troubled the batsmen with his bowling in every format.
What About Bumrah’s Olympic dream?
Bumrah expressed excitement over the news of cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
He says, “Cricket being in the Olympics is very special for me. Who would have thought that this sport would become a part of the Olympics? This is an inspiration for me.”
But he also says that he does not put pressure on himself by setting big goals.
In the last few years, a back injury kept Bumrah away from the field many times. Still, he returns and performs better than before every time.
Now everyone’s eyes will be on this star bowler in the England Test series.
This statement of Bumrah is emotional for his fans, but it also shows how sensible and practical he is about his career.
