Ravi Shastri teased Virat Kohli in front of Rohit Sharma for scoring two ducks in the ODI series against Australia.
This funny incident happened after the third ODI, when India won by a huge margin by 9 wickets.
Virat surprised everyone by getting out for a duck in the first two matches, but made a brilliant comeback by scoring 74* in Sydney. Even Virat laughed after hearing Shastri’s joke.
Virat’s Performance
The Australia tour started poorly for Virat. In the first ODI in Perth, he was dismissed after playing 8 balls by Mitchell Starc. The second ODI in Adelaide was even worse, where he was LBW by Xavier Bartlett.
For the first time in his ODI career, Virat was out for two consecutive ducks. Fans and experts were shocked.
Shastri had said in commentary that Virat would have to find form quickly. But in Sydney, Virat responded by scoring 74* off 81 balls.

After the match, Shastri, along with Adam Gilchrist, cornered Virat in Star Sports commentary.
Laughing, Shastri said, “Two ducks out of the pond. The ducks are finally out.”
Virat also jokingly replied, “Good to be out of the pond, honestly. Well, you know, I kind of lost. You’ve scored so many runs in international cricket, but then the game shows you everything, even at this stage.
Almost 37 in not many days and still can feel like I don’t know how to get a run. I mean, this game is amazing. That’s why we love batting, we love batsmanship.”
Virat praised the 168-run partnership with Rohit.
He said, “When Rohit’s already batting there, it’s pretty easy to kind of keep rotating strike. We understand each other’s game pretty well.” This conversation went viral, and fans had a blast on social media.
Gill Praised
In the post-match presentation, captain Shubman Gill praised Rohit and Virat.
Gill said, “(On Kohli and Rohit) They’ve been doing it for so many years. It’s such a delight to watch them both bat, and especially when they both finish the innings.”
Rohit scored a century, Virat remained unbeaten, and India won comfortably. Although they lost the series, the victory boosted the team’s morale.
