Ajay Jadeja revealed an amazing story about young Rishabh Pant recently. The former Delhi coach remembered how confident Pant was as a teenager. This story shows why Pant became such a fearless cricket player today.

Back in 2015-16, Pant was just a young boy dreaming of cricket. The Delhi team did not pick him for their squad initially. Most young players would feel sad and worried about this rejection.
But Pant was different from other boys his age. He showed incredible confidence even when things went wrong. His bold attitude surprised everyone who knew him during those days.
The Bold Response That Shocked Everyone
Jadeja wanted to help the young player after Delhi rejected him. The coach told Pant to keep coming to training sessions regularly. He believed practice would help Pant improve his cricket skills quickly.
“I was the coach of Delhi for a few days before quitting (in 2015). The selectors and captain kept arguing over the players they wanted to have in the team. Pant wasn’t picked.” I still told him (Pant) to attend the practice session for the Ranji Trophy, telling him that it doesn’t matter that you’ve not been selected, there will be a chance in future.” said Ajay Jadeja.
Pant gave a response that nobody expected from an 18-year-old boy. He told Jadeja, “Bhaiya rehne do na, jab zaroorat padegi, ghar se bulayenge.” This means he believed teams would call him when they needed him.
Jadeja could not believe such confidence from someone so young. He shared this memory on Sony Sports to show Pant’s fearless nature. The coach still remembers being shocked by this bold reply.
Gautam Gambhir was Delhi’s captain when this story happened. He witnessed Pant’s journey from a rejected player to a star. This connection makes their current coach-player relationship even more special.
