After suffering a clean sweep in the Test series at home against South Africa, Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir’s troubles are mounting.

Now, even fans have started barging in on the field and giving him a piece of their mind.
On Wednesday, an optional practice session was underway in Ranchi to prepare for the ODI series. Gambhir was standing near the nets when a fan started shouting loudly.
The entire incident was captured on video and immediately went viral on social media.
What did the fan say to Gambhir?
The fan, without any fear, directly told Gautam Gambhir, “3-0 at home, 1-0 against Africa. Forget coaching. You can’t win at home with South Africa, forget the 2027 World Cup.”
That means, a 3-0 defeat at home, a 1-0 defeat against Africa… Forget coaching, forget the 2027 World Cup. Hearing this, the others present started laughing, and no one could say anything.
Now Pressure in the ODI Series
The three-match ODI series against South Africa begins on November 30th. Shubman Gill is out due to injury, Rohit and Kohli are on rest, and Hardik is also absent.
KL Rahul has assumed the captaincy. This means Gambhir faces even greater pressure to win.
The first ODI is in Ranchi, the second in Raipur on December 3rd, and the final in Visakhapatnam on December 6th. The fans’ anger has not yet subsided, and it is now being heard on the field as well. It remains to be seen how the team performs under this pressure.
Under Gambhir’s coaching, they have lost 10 of the last 19 Tests, winning only 4 out of 9 at home. The fans’ patience has now run out.
The viral video clearly shows that Gambhir has very little support left, both on and off the field.
