Ahmedabad, June 3, 2025: The final of IPL 2025 is being played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB batted first and scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, PBKS are currently at 63/1 in 7.4 overs, and need 128 runs in 74 balls. But the real spice of this match was the brilliant catch of RCB superstar Phil Salt, which surprised everyone.

PBKS’ innings had started in the match, and Priyansh Arya (24 runs, 19 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh together took the score to 43/1.
Then Josh Hazlewood bowled a ball of 4.6 overs, on which Arya hit a strong shot in the air. The ball was going towards deep square leg, and it seemed that a six was sure.
But Salt jumped like a superman on the boundary line and caught the ball with one hand. This catch was so tremendous that the fans in the stadium shouted, and there was a wave of happiness in the RCB dugout!
This catch was not just a wicket, but it put a slight break on the run-scoring pace of PBKS.
This agility of Salt brought RCB back into the game.

After this catch, Josh Inglis came to the crease, and right now he is handling the innings with Prabhsimran Singh (18* runs). PBKS need 10.38 runs per over to win, and RCB bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma are keeping the pressure on.
In RCB’s batting, Virat Kohli scored 43 runs (35 balls), while Rajat Patidar (26) and Jitesh Sharma (24) added runs quickly. But PBKS’s Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson did not let RCB cross 200 by taking 3-3 wickets.
Salt also gave a start of 16 runs (9 balls), but got out early.
This catch of Phil Salt has become the most memorable moment of IPL 2025.
