Then came the next delivery from Cherian. Aashiq swung his bat hard to hit another big shot. But his bat suddenly broke into two pieces.
One piece stayed in Aashiq’s hands. The other piece flew toward the bowler quickly. It hit Cherian on his leg before anyone could react.
Cherian felt some pain but continued playing the match. The umpires checked if he was okay to bowl. Medical staff also came to see him.
What Happened in the Rest of the Match
Aashiq got a new bat and kept playing well. He scored 54 runs before getting out later. His teammates also played good cricket that day.
Vijay Shankar made 47 runs for Chepauk Super Gillies. Swapnil Singh scored 45 runs in his innings. Captain Aparajith added 41 more runs to the total.
