Sanjiv Goenka’s Emotional Moment Goes Viral
After the match, a video circulated rapidly on social media showing Sanjiv Goenka appearing visibly emotional, with his hand placed over his chest. It appeared as though he was on the verge of tears.
Notably, just a few days prior, following a defeat against the Delhi Capitals, a conversation involving Goenka, Rishabh Pant, and coach Justin Langer had become a major talking point. At the time, Goenka had faced criticism from many quarters.
However, the team’s official social media handle later shared a video in which Pant, Goenka, and Langer were seen chatting and laughing together.
This clarified that the atmosphere within the team remained completely normal.
Mohammed Shami’s Brilliant Bowling
Batting first in this encounter, the Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 156/9 in their allotted 20 overs. The team found itself under significant pressure during the initial stages of the innings.

Subsequently, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen stabilized the innings by forging a 100-run partnership off 57 balls. Reddy contributed 56 runs, while Klaasen played a knock of 62 runs.
While chasing the target, LSG got off to a poor start, losing their early wickets in quick succession. However, Aiden Markram steadied the team by scoring 45 runs off 27 balls.
Ultimately, Pant took charge and stayed at the crease until the very end.
Speaking after the match, Pant praised the bowlers, stating, “I think with bowlers, you know, you’ve got to appreciate and give them one because, you know, those are the people who set you up for the night, especially when you bowl first.”
Mohammed Shami was named the Player of the Match for his magnificent bowling performance in this game. He claimed 2 wickets in 4 overs and also delivered several crucial dot balls.
