On May 30, Mumbai batted first at the Mullanpur ground and scored a huge score of 228/5. Rohit Sharma played a stormy innings of 81 runs in 50 balls, which included 9 fours and 4 sixes. But the real game was shown by Bumrah with the ball.
Gujarat was chasing a target of 229 runs and was looking strong at 151/3 in 13.3 overs. Then ‘Boom Boom Bumrah’ did wonders!
Bumrah bowled such a yorker to Washington Sundar, who was hitting 48 runs in 24 balls, that the stumps flew in the air. This was the moment that broke the back of Gujarat.
After this, Gujarat’s innings collapsed to 208/6. Bumrah took 1 wicket for just 27 runs in 4 overs, but his accurate bowling kept the opposition batsmen tied down.

Former KKR batsman Manoj Tiwari praised Bumrah.
He said, “Jasprit did what he always does. If he had not taken Washington’s wicket, the match would have become very tight. Sachin Tendulkar used to scare Shane Warne in his dreams, similarly now Bumrah has become a terror for the batsmen.”
Tiwari also said that “half of Mumbai’s work becomes easy with Bumrah’s presence, because he never gets expensive.”
Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya also praised Bumrah.
He said, “When it seems that the game is getting out of hand, just hand the ball to Bumrah.”
