Captain Rajat Patidar’s injury in IPL 2025 has given tension to everyone. If Rajat does not return to the field, then Jitesh Sharma is ready to take over the command of RCB.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar got injured while fielding in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3. He suffered a finger injury at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and doctors asked him to take a break from training for 10 days and wear a splint on his finger.
If IPL 2025 had not been suspended for seven days, Rajat might have missed a match or two. But this break due to the Indo-Pak border tension gave Rajat a golden opportunity to recover.
Jitesh Sharma’s Dhamaka!
If the tournament had gone on without a break, star wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma would have become the captain of RCB. He was to lead the team in the match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
In RCB Bold Diaries, Jitesh told, “The opportunity to captain a big team like RCB is a big deal for me.
I was thinking about what should be the right playing-11, because both Rajat and Devdutt Padikkal were not there. The meetings with the coach and players were a lot of fun.”
The latest news on Rajat’s injury is that he is recovering fast. RCB does not want to take any risk regarding his fitness, as it is important for the captain to be fit in the playoffs.
Not only this, Rajat is in the eyes of BCCI for India’s tour of England in 2025, so he has to be fully fit. He has returned to Bangalore with his team from Lucknow and is excited to play the rest of the season.
But RCB’s troubles do not end here. Phil Salt has missed a few matches due to illness, Devdutt Padikkal is out of the tournament, and Josh Hazlewood is troubled by a shoulder injury.
Still, RCB fans are confident that Rajat’s return and Jitesh’s enthusiasm can give RCB their first IPL trophy.
